Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is the body in charge of coordinating and unifying the petroleum policies of her Member Countries and ensure the stabilization of oil markets in order to secure an efficient, economic and regular supply of petroleum to consumers, a steady income to producers and a fair return on capital for those investing in the petroleum industry.

Role Title: Statistical Systems Coordinator

Location: Nigeria

Role Responsibilities:

• Maintains and develops networking with other national organizations to improve the quality of statistics data in the Secretariat.
• Coordinates and assisting the Head in administrative matters referring to the Statistics Group.
• Carries out any other tasks assigned by the relevant superiors as pertain to your background, qualifications and position.
• Coordinates the activities relating to statistical data support and analysis and coordinates staff assignments within the Group.
• Guides colleagues in the group in compiling and analyzing statistical data as reported by Member Countries and secondary sources.
• Supervising the employees in the group in maintaining and updating the statistical database of the Secretariat.
• Guiding the Department’s team members, in close cooperation with the employees of other Departments in the Secretariat, to generate and improve the statistical data reporting by the Secretariat.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research or Economics. MSc would be a plus
• IT Skills (Internet, Networking, FTP, TCP/IP)
• Sound knowledge in the area of energy with specific expertise in the oil sector.
• Ten years relevant working experience
• Statistical methods and analysis
• Database queries and data mining experience
• Relational Databases, Design Principles (ER-Modeling, Data Flow Diagram)
• Application Software: Excel, Access, Oracle, B20/20, PL/SQL
