Role Title: MEL Advisor
Location: FCT, Abuja.
Role Responsibility:
- Expected to generate regular situational reports to inform implementation
- Expected participate in regular portfolio reviews
- In coordination with relevant objective lead, lead on executing task activities for client
- Assisting USAID and its implementing partners to develop MEL plans
- Identify, define, and document performance indicators for common reporting
- Supporting and conducting virtual DQAs and site
visitations.
- Assisting in the development and execution of learning agendas
- Supporting in developing and executing of MEL trainings
- Expected assist in logistical coordination of the MEL community of practice
- Support objective leads in delivering tasks for clients across performance monitoring support, evaluation support services, data management support, capacity building and strengthening services and collaborating, learning and adaptive management
- Reviewing and providing feedback on evaluation statements of work
- Coordinating and participating on evaluations of USAID programs
- Required to conduct special studies, evaluations and assessments
- Assisting in environmental mitigation and monitoring planning
- Identifying secondary sources of data for evaluations and assessments
- Conducting analyses to inform strategy and project design
Required Qualification:
- At least a master’s degree in Development, Evaluation, Development Analytics, Economics, Knowledge Management or related fields.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical background in cost-benefit analysis, econometric methodologies, or statistical systems.
- Three years of relevant work experience working with USAID projects.
- Seven years of cognate experience in monitoring and evaluation with monitoring and evaluation activities within complex international development contexts in one or more areas of Economic Growth and Environment, Education, HIV and TB, Health Population and Nutrition, Peace and Democratic Governance.
- Three years of experience in design and monitoring of MEL frameworks
- Candidate must possess the ability to conduct field work in areas with hardship conditions, in remote areas, for extended periods of time.
